Mrs. Alice B. Hadley Dies in W. C. Hospital147
Mrs. Alice Benbolt Hadley, 81 years old, mother of Ray T. Hadley and Robert Hadley, died in Jane Chinn hospital at Webb City at 10:35 o'clock last night. She had been in ill health three years and seriously ill since last Friday.
Mrs. Hadley came to Joplin in 1946 from Arkansas City, Cowley County, Kansas, and at the time of her death was residing with the son, Robert Hadley, 814 Moffet avenue. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Joplin.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William Huddle of Exeter, Missiouri; 7 sons, Ray T. Hadley and Robert Hadley of Joplin, D. A. Hadley and P. A. Hadley of Arkansas City, J. M. Hadley of Texas City, Texas, B. R. Hadley of Wichita, and L. E. Hadley of Las Vegas, New Mexico; 3 sisters, Mrs. Maggie Hadley of Los Angles, Mrs. Etta Boyer of Arkansas City and Mrs. Tillie Oliver of Concordia, Kansas; 20 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
The David Dillon Mortuary received the body.
Hadley Funeral148Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Benbolt Hadley, 81 years old, mother of Ray T. Hadley and Robert Hadley, who died in Jane Chinn Hospital at Webb City Monday ngiht, will be conducted at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the First Baptist Church at Arkansas City, Cowley County, Kansas. The funeral cortege left the David Dillon Funeral home this morning for Arkansas City. The Rev. Paul Hanta will officiate at the service and burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, under direction of the Joplin Funeral Home. Grandsons of Mrs. Hadley will serve as pallbearers.

A. T. Hadley Dies Suddenly146
Arthur Thomas Hadley, 72, a retired farmer, died suddenly at 6:15 Sunday Morning at his home, 923 North Seventh Street.
Mr. Hadley came to Arkansas City three years ago last December from his farm near Dexter. He was born March 25, 1870, in Story County, Iowa, and was married to Miss Alice Rowe on September 17, 1888, at Siloam Springs, Benton County, Arkansas.
Survivors include the widow, 2 daughters, Mrs. Grace Huddle and Mrs. Dolly Mabel Dean, both of Arkansas City; 7 sons, Dan Hadley and Perry Hadley of Arkansas City; Joe Hadley of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Ben and Eugene Hadley of Wichita, Ray Hadley of Joplin and Robert Hadley of Los Angeles; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Sherbon of Arkansas City; 3 brothers, Frank Hadley of Arkansas City, Willis Hadley of Los Angeles, 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Methodist church. The Rev. F. E. Rohl will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery. The Jess Rindt Mortuary is in charge.
