Polly was probably really named Mary Hobbs, since Polly was a common nickname for Mary. Possibly she was named after her maternal grandmother, Mary Wroten. No information on Polly’s life have been found.
Her birthdate has been given as 16 Sep 1813 in one source.166 However, this must be incorrect as her younger brother Benedict Hobbs was born only 3 1/2 months after that date, on 5 Jan 1814.
Polly was not present with the family of Joseph Hobbs in the 1830 census, when she would have been 18. It is possible that she married and was living elsewhere by 1830.
In this regard there was a marriage of Mary Hobbs to William Pritchard in Washington CO IN on 6 Jan 1831.197. However, her Find a Grave bio indicates that this Mary Hobbs was the daughter pf William Hobbs and Priscilla Coffin and was born in North Carolina in 1802.198
