Earl McManus Sr.894 MAYFIELD, Ky. - Earl McManus Sr., 87, of Mayfield died at 1:50 p.m. Saturday at Volunteer General Hospital in Martin, Tenn.
Mr. McManus was retired from Chrysler Corp.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Eunice Edwards McManus; their children, Shirley Rogers of Boaz, Norma Latham of Melber, Brenda Forrest of South Fulton, Tenn., Jackie Burnett of Mayfield, and Earl "Sonny" McManus Jr. of Mayfield; his children from a previous marriage; Eugene McManus, Clifton McManus, Linda Mathis. Freida Gamble, Fay Jarvis and Harold McManus, all of Symsonia; 25 grandchildren; and 20 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Burnett; and a son, Vastine McManus; His parents were James and Louella Herndon McManus. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Byrn Funeral Home with the Rev. Carey Puckett and Gus Barclay officiating. Burial will be in Pryorsburg Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Zena McManus Bell895 BENTON, Ky. Mrs. Zena McManus Bell, 72, Symsonia, died at 4 a.m. today at her home. She was a member of Clark's River Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Orville Bell; three daughters, Mrs. Linda Mathis, Benton, Mrs. Faye Jarris. Symsonia, and Mrs. Fredia Gamble, Symsonia; four sons, Gene McManus, Vastine McManus, Harold McManus and Clifton (Fuzz) McManus, all of Symsonia; three step-daughters, Mrs. Aline Taylor, Benton, Mrs. Patsy Franklin and Mrs. Joyce Fuller, both of Paducah: five step-sons, Doris R. Bell, Ted Bell and Jimmy Bell, all of Symsonia, Truman Bell, Texas, and Jerry Bell, Benton; a sister, Mrs. Thelma Wallace. Symsonia; a brother, Garvis Hathcock, Paducah; 17 grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grand-children.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Clarks River Baptist Church. The Revs. Leamon Blalock and Gary Frizzell will officiate. Burial will be in Clarks River Cemetery.
Friends may call at Filbeck and Cann Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Wednesday. The body will be taken to the church at noon on Thursday.
