June 18, 1939 - March 16, 2023

Mary Eileen Syfert was born June 18, 1939 in Kendall County, Texas and spent her childhood in Boerne. She enjoyed the river, outdoors, and the company of her brother, sisters, and many cousins. She graduated from Boerne High School in 1957. Soon after graduation, she met Freddy Randolph Jones when they were both employed at USAA. They married February 15, 1958. Married for 56 years until Freddy's passing in 2014, they raised four children. Mary was a proud stay-at-home mom and always had a smile and a glass of tea for anyone that visited. Mary liked to draw and paint, play tennis, read, and do crossword puzzles. She will be remembered with love for her kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and her limitless regard for all animals. Mary is survived by her children: David Christopher Jones, Randi Eileen Jones, Jennifer Ann Shipley, and Edie Lyn Jones, and her grandchildren: Jamie Diane Snodgrass, Emma Josephine Falls, Keira Elizabeth Falls, Thorben Martin Khalili, and Niklas Oliver Khalili. Mary passed away on March 16 at the care home of Yvette and John Sanchez, where she was welcomed and cared for like a family member. Mary's family is forever grateful to them for making her feel safe and loved.

Randy married Mary Eileen Syfert on February 15, 1958. She was born June 18, 1939 in Boerne, TX. They met at USAA, which was at that time not the giant corporate farm they've made it into. My father says he was tired of commuting to see her in Boerne where she still lived with her father Guy Syfert (a handyman of sorts) and so he asked her to marry him. They lived in numerous houses around San Antonio, including one on Sussex. I hear much about this house!40

Randy retired as the Director of Purchasing of VIA Metropolitan Transit System. My parents live in San Antonio in the same house they have had for the last 27 years-- 714 Beryl Dr. across from a Catholic Church.40
