The Hadleys in North Carolina were joined in 1762 by Simon Hadley and his family from Pennsylvania. He was the eldest son of Joshua Hadley the first and his wife Patience (Brown) Hadley. By the will of his grandfather, Simon Hadley, he had fallen heir to the "Messuage plantation," and old home in New Garden. He was accompanied by his wife and three children, - Thomas, Ann and Patience, and they were received by the Cane Creek meeting.970
