Britton’s wife Martha Gant died in 184, possibly in childbirth of her son Lafayette. He was living with his brother Needham Jr. and his son John in Gibson Co in 1850. In 1860 he is listed in Pemiscot Co MO with a wife named Decem and three new children, Narcissus, Sarah and Nancy. In 1870, his wife is listed as Margaret. It is clearly the same family (Cf.
