Nettie B. Adair 1077Mrs. Nettie (Dee) Adair, 102, died December 31, 1997, In Pasadena, Texas. She was born on December 22, 1895, in Elgin, Texas, to Charles and Minnie Davenport.
After attending, the Teacher's College in San Marcos, Texas, she taught in several Texas schools. She married Dee Adair in Bishop, Texas, in December of 1922. In 1937, the family moved to Lexington, Texas, where she lived most of the time until 1989, at which time she moved to Pasadena, Texas. She was a faithful member of the Baptist church, and enjoyed teaching ladies' classes in Sunday School for many years. She had an outgoing personality, and loved being with other people.
She was prededed in death by her husband in 1942; by her parents; by two brothers, Woody and Wayne Davenport; and by two sisters, May Davenport and Camilla Dalton, all of Elgin, Texas.
She is survived by her son and wife, Charles E. and Phyllis Adair; her grandson, Danny and Becky Adair, a great-grandson, Matthew Adair, a great-granddaughter, Teresa Espinoza; and a great-great-grandson, Joseph Wood, all of Pasadena. Also surviving her are three sisters-in-law, Mary Emma Davenport, Lois Adair, and Doris Baxter; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Lexington, Texas, at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 1998, with Reverend Ruell Cooper officiating.
