I am a descendent of Branch Hobbs, Son of Amory Oliver Hobbs and Roseann Stringfield. I see that you have him listed as Blanche (some of those old records are very hard to read).

Branch married Nannie Staggs (a twin of Annie Staggs), they had two Sons, Denton May Hobbs, and Ples Harmon Hobbs (my Grandfather). Nannie died at the birth of Ples in 1892, and Branch married again to Mary Elizabeth Posey. They added the following children Nannie Velma, b. approx. 1895, Alfred Burton b 1901, d. 1959, Bertha May, b. 1904, d. 1973, and Berta Beatrice, b. 1906, d. sometime after 1975.

Aunt Berta is the party that passed this information on to me in the mid-1970's (still have her letter around somewhere).

Ples Harmon Hobbs married Mary Catherine (Katy) McCullar. Their Children were, Gladys, Jewel, Adren, b. 1910, d. 1994, Leonard Dee (my Father), b. 1911, d. 1/1996, Elvis Eugene, Bill, Lucille, Paul. I do have much better dates on many of these folks and have a copy of the page from Ples & Katy's family bible with full names, etc., I just need to take the time to dig them
out.

There is a whole line of Hobbs' that you may not have known about. Most of Ples' Children and Grandchildren have settled and remained in the Central Valley of California since they came West in the late 1930's. Ples' Brothers and Sisters all remained in Texas. I see you're in Berkeley. I'm in Stockton. I would be interested in your comments on this bit of information.
