1080 David Lee Harvey passed away on November 19, 2014, in Austin, Texas. Dave was born in San Antonio, Texas, and grew up in Mirando City, Texas. He was the first child of Opal (Adair) and Earl Thomas Harvey. He grad uated from The University of Texas in 1950, with a BBA in Accounting. He was a practicing CPA for 65 years, working for 1 several firms and running several of his own businesses which led him to live in many cities across the nation.
Dave was an engaging, fun loving gentleman, a people person who enjoyed meeting new friends. He always loved a good party, music and dancing, and he welcomed everyone into his home. He was a sweet, kind man, with a great sense of humor. He loved animals, especially his dogs and cats, and all the birds that loved his feeders. He was an avid Longhorn football and sports fan, passing his love of sports on to all his children and grandchildren. His artist side was apparent to all who viewed his paintings.
Dave is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Patricia Ann (Townsend ) Harvey. Pat and Dave were blessed with four children, son Jay Harvey and his wife Tina, daughter Debra (Derby) Delaney and her partner Steve Austin, daughter Dana Canada Suberiandherh usband Sol, and sonJohnEarl (J ack)Har-vey, deceased. Dave's legacy will be carried on by his 7 grandchildren, Jake and Jeb Harvey, Jenny ( Harvey ) Hernandez, Jordan ( Harvey ) Knutsvig, Jamie ( Delaney) Wheeler, and Jett and Kyla Canada, and his 4 great-grandchildren, Isabelle and Alexander Hernandez, and River and Brooke Knutsvig. Dave is also survived by his brother, John Baker Harvey and his wife Maxine, his brother-in-law Walter Townsend and wife Ruth, and several nieces and nephews.
Dave's family would like to thank the staff of St. David's North Austin Medical Center, Hospice Austin, and all the compassionate and professional ICU folks. We would also like to thank management and the staff of Ashwood Retirement and Assisted Living. A private family service was held on November 19, 2014.
