Believed to have been the first Hathcock in America. On June 4, 1635, Mr. William Stone patented 1800 acres on behalf of himself and his brother Andrew Stone, due for the per. adv. of himselfe and his brother and transportation of 34 servants, including Tho. Hatcock (Nugent, Vol. 1, p 27-28).
Notes for Ffrancys (Spouse 1)
11 May 1670 Will of ffrancys heathcock to [heir] Walter, Lancaster County, Virginia.
1647 It is not clear from the will if ffrancys was a woman, and therefore possibly the wife of Thomas Hathcock the immigrant, or a man named Francys Heathcock.
A modern transcript of the will, prepared by Douglas Wilburn Hathcock, follows:
A probate of ye Last Will and Testament of Francys Heathcock (deceased) is granted upon (unto ?) said oath heard according to ye honor of the said Will. Thomas Marshall and John Upshar are ordered to appraise the said estate and to be worn by the next Justice and proven (?) in witness thereof to be exhibited to the next court.
