Elizabeth was mentioned in Emanuel’s 1770 will so she was alive at that time.
Information from another researcher:
1655In 1730 Emanuel II was deeded land in Bertie County, North Carolina, the part that later became Edgecombe. He sold some of it to his brother, John, in 1734. The rest was sold around 1840, and he probably moved to Johnson Co NC at this time.
His will was dated January 20, 1770 and probated at the November Court 1770. Part of it will reads.....
I lend the manor house and half the orchard and clear ground to my well beloved wife, Elizabeth, during her lifetime.
I give and bequeath to my loving Daniel, my plantation and all my land.
I give and bequeath to my well beloved son, Dorsey, two pounds.
I give and bequeath to my loving son Dewitt Dees, forty shillings.
I give and bequeath to my loving daughter, Hanna Benton ten shillings.
I give and bequeath to my loving daughter Priscilla Hatcher, ten shillings.
I give and bequeath to my loving daughter Susanna Guing two cows and calves, and my will and desire is that all my first debts??????my son in his debts to John Smith.
