Notes for Nathan Henderson
Said by one researcher to have died young.
1752 He must have been born after 1724 because he was not yet 21 at the time his father’s will was made in 1745. He was still alive in 1749 when his mother gifted 250 acres of Richard Henderson’s land to her three sons, James, Samuel and Nathan. It is likely that he died between then and 1754 when Clayton Cooke and his wife Henrietta (Henley) sold an interest in Richard Henderson’s land to Chales Lee. It is not known if Clayton Cooke’s wife at this time was Henrietta Henley, the widow of Richard Henderson, or Henrietta Henley, daughter of Richard Henderson. In either case, since Samuel and James sold their interests in the Henderson land to Lee in other transactions, the interest sold in 1754 by Clayton and Henrietta Cooke must have been the share gifted to Nathan in 1749. Putting this all together, the best guess is that Nathan Henderson was born after about 1730, was about 15 when his father made his will in 1745, was about 19 when his mother gifted him land, and died before 1754 when he would have been about 24.
