Just received results of our family's Y-DNA test. Guess what!!!! We are a tight 37-marker match with the Edmundson family. This came at a great surprise to us, as we came from Pulaski/Casey County area of Kentucky and we havn't been able to locate any Edmundsons living (or traveling through) that area in the late 1870's. We knew our great-grandmother had our grandfather out-of-wedlock, but no one knew who the father was. My great-grandmother's name was Mary Helen Lay b. 28 Feb 1855 in Pulaski County, KY. She was the daughter of David Lay and Jemima Vanhook Lay of Pulaski County, KY. Mary Helen gave grandpa her surname: John William Lay, b. 25 Aug 1878 in Pulaski County, KY. Any cousins, uncles, aunts out there that can help me????
