DR. ROBERT HUNT DIES AT AGE OF 90 YEARS947

MILAN, April 9 – Funeral services for Dr. Robert H. Hunt, veteran of the Confederate army and one of the oldest men in Gibson county, were held yesterday. Dr. Hunt was born near Eldad, Tenn., on July 24, 1845, making him 90 years of age at the time of his death. He volunteered for service in the Confederate army at the age of 16 and was wounded in action.

Dr. Hunt was a charter member of the Gibson Baptist church, a deacon in the church, former Sunday school teacher and presi dent of the Bank of Gibson. He practiced medicine for sixty years and aided more people, physically, morally, financially and spiritually, than any other man in Gibson county.

He is survived by one daughter, Mra. J. E. Morris of Gibson; one sister, Mrs. Emma Robinson of Memphis; and one brother, W. B. Hunt of Dyersburg, besides a number of other relatives.

Fields & Company, local morticians, had charge of the funeral arrangements. Dr. J. E. Skinner, former pastor here, was in charge of the funeral services. He was interred in the family lot of the White Rose cemetery.
