DEATH OF PROMINENT CITIZEN1893 Mr. Elbert F. Hunt, one of Harrison county's best citizens, died at his home 8 miles north of Hallsville Sunday afternoon, Mr. Hunt had been sick only a few days and his death was from Erysipelas.
He was born in Tennessee more than 60 years ago and has been an honored, useful citizen of Harrison county for years. He married Miss Mattie Bass and to them born the following children, who survive him: Odell, Robt. Elbert, Porter Matt, Herbert, Harry, Hardy, James and Shirley Hunt, and one daughter, Miss Hazel Hunt. The family is an honor to their father and mother and Harrison county.
Mr. Hunt was a member of the Baptist church and has been identified- prominently with every movement for the betterment of his neighborhood and -county. Besides his wife and children he issurvived by four brothers and two sisters and a grand daughter, Miss Lois Cole. The funeral will be today at 10 a. m. at the Hallsville cemetery. Mrs. Will Wolz of Marshall is a sis.ter of Mrs. Hunt. Mrs. Wolz and her daughter. Miss Shirley, and many other relatives and friends from Marshall will attend the funeral.
