Hans George Mangold (Apr 1907 - Oct 2001) - Born in Weinheim, Germany, the eldest of 7 (?) children, Hans always had an energetic spirit. Known for his fancy feet and zither-playing fingers, he would impress and delight everyone who knew him. He immigrated to the United States on his own at the tender age of 18 to live with his uncle and aunt in New York City. A few years later, he would move to San Antonio to expound on the upholstery skills he had learned from his Uncle George. In 1929, he married his one and only love, New Braunfels, TX native Ella Hoffman (1896 - 1988). Never officially retiring, Hans was able to run a successful upholstery business well into his eighties.
