Former Hockley Cattleman Dies2058
LEVELLAND (Special) — Ira Wills, 75, former manager of R. L. Slaughter Farms in Hockley County and a longtime resident of the area, died Saturday in Fort Worth.
Wills was found dead in his hotel room in Fort Worth, where he had moved about 14 months ago from Levelland.
He is survived by a sister, who lives in Dallas.
Close friends at Levelland said Wills had made arrangements for his entombment at Hillcrest Mausoleum m Dallas more than two decades ago. Completion of other arrangements are pending in Dallas.
The pioneer cattleman was manager of the Slaughter Farms at Smyer, near here, for many years before retiring and moving to Fort Worth.
