Yes, we are definitely related through our great-great-grandfather Pleasant Hobbs. His daughter Adelia Hobbs was my mother’s grandmother. I do so appreciate the history you compiled about our family. I refer to it often! I put my DNA in GEDmatch (in addition to Ancestry) because I was checking the relationship to Alissa Jacobs. It turns out she is the daughter of my brother Charles who died in 1994 at the age of 47. He never knew he had a daughter because he and her mother split up before she was born. I just found all this out in the past two weeks. We are now getting acquainted and hope to visit soon. So Alissa is my niece and Peter must be my great-nephew. That means they are related to you as well, through our mother. Isn’t DNA an amazing thing! Alissa is eager to hear all about her long-lost father’s side of the family.
