KENEDY - Ted S. Akin, 43, of Kenedy, died Sunday in a local hospital following a short illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert L: Wimpee and the Rev. John Hallum officiating.
Graveside rites will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Stockdale City Cemetery.
Born March 17, 1941, in Kenedy, Mr. Akin was a salesman for Evergreen Feed Co.
He was a former funeral director in Beeville and Cuero, was a 32nd degree Mason, was a member of the Scottish Rite, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kenedy.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Akin of Kenedy; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted E. Akin of Stockdale; two sons, Ted Brent Akin of Stockdale and Brad Smith Akin of Waco; a stepdaughter, Terri Merritt of Kenedy; a step-son, Trey Merritt of Kenedy; a sister, Mrs. Judy Childress of Stockdale; and a brother, Ronald R. Akin of San Antonio.
Pallbearers will be Jim Tom Nichols, Ervin Johnson, Bob Ihrig, Tommy Hutton, Max Alvis, and Jim Jones.
