Jessie Wheeler Heathcock, born August 10, 1874 near Denton and Samford, died in the Blytheville Hospital, December 16, 1950, at the age of 76 years.
He was a farmer and merchant in these communities of most of his life, and was in the mercantile business at Denton at the time of his death. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Samford and always a friend to those he came in contact with.
He was married to Rosa Lee James on September 27, 1900. To this union seven boys and four girls were born.
Elder Robert Martin of Rector, Ark., officiated and interment was at the Mount Zion Cemetery.
Those surviving are: six sons: Otis of Caruthersville, Alf Wheeler, of Elaine, Ark., J.W. Junior of Jonesboro, Ark., and Cooper, Verlon and Delvey of Steele; one daughter, Mrs. Ollie Reeves of Steele; three brothers and one sister, P.H. Heathcock of Holland, Mo., Frank Bishop of Flint, Mich., Charley Bishop of Perryville, Mo., Mrs. Amanda Treece of McAllister, Okla.; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Those attending the funeral from out of town were: Mrs. Ella Heathcock, Alton Heathcock and son, and Frankie Heathcock, of Detroit, Michigan.
Possibly died in childbirth.
