One website has assigned Andrew Buchanan and Joanna Hay as the parents of Alexancer Buchanan.2837 However, this may be in error since Andrew Buchanan’s will did not mention a son named Alexander. Furthermore, there is no mention of Alexander Buchanan being the son of Andrew Buchanan and Joanna Hay in other published works on Andrew Buchanan and his family.2838,2839

Andrew Buchanan died in Washington County in 1794. His will was dated Oct. 13, 1793. He left his estate to Joanna, his wife, and to his children: David, John, Joseph, Margaret, Eleanor, Hannah and Matthew.2840
