In the Essex County records there are two entries which proved that Zachary Lewis had a sister who came to Virginia named Sarah, who married Francis Shackelford of South Farnham Parish, where he resided in 1707.
“The family records of the Lewises state that Zachary Lewis married Mary Walker, daughter of Col. Thomas Walker of Gloucester County, settled and died in King and Queen County. They had two sons: Zachary Lewis, who was born on June 1, 1702 and died January 20, 1765 in Spottsylvania County, where he married Mary Waller, on January 9, 1725. She was the daughter of Col.
