John Bonville, son and heir of Sir William and Margaret d’Aumarle, married Elizabeth, only child and heiress of John Fitz-Roger, daughter of the first husband of his father’s second wife. Whe was heiress-general to the Fitz-Rogers and brought the manor of Chewton-Mdndip, near Wells, Somerset, and much other property into the family.
2805According to the account by Hamilton Rogers,
2805 John Bonville and Elizabeth FitzRoger had only one daughter, Isabel, who is said to have married Sir Richard Champernowne of Modbury, son of Sir Richard Champernowne, who died 26 Feb 1418-19, and Katherine daughter of Sir Giles Daubeney, and who were both buried at Dodbrooke, near Knightsbridge.
However, another account
2809 recites that there were two sons (William and Thomas) and two daughters (Isabel and Philippe).
