He bequeathed to his three sons, Dempsey, Joseph and Benjamin Powell, all the land and plantations whereon he lived in Wake County, N. C. He bequeathed to his two daughters, Polly and Charlotte Powell, all the land he owned in the State of Tennessee, on Duck River in the county of (???).
