Sanford V. Chandler3287 Funeral services for Sanford V. Chandler, prominent farmer of the lower section of this county, will be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon from the Washington Baptist church, which is also in lower Greenville county. The Rev. H. M. Fallaw, pastor of the church will conduct the services and interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Grandsons of the deceased will serve as pallbearers and are as follows: George Stone, Roy Stone, Carl Allen, Shelton Delk, Russell Chandler and Wilton Chandler.
Mr. Chandler passed away at the home of his son, R. V. Chandler, on Hillcrest avenue, at 10 o'clock yesterday morning after being confined to his bed for several weeks. His home was in the Augusta road community about 18 miles from this city.
Mr. Chandler was born in lower Greenville county, December 22, 1850, a son of the late Josiah and Elizabeth Browning Chandler. He had resided in that section his entire lifetime and always took an active part in affairs pertaining to the unbuilding of his community. He was a devoted member of the Washngton Baptist church.
Surviving are his wife, wno was Miss Hannah Adair before her marriage; and the following children: Mrs. W. E. Stone, Mrs. J. W. Stone, Mrs. J. C. Allen, and Mrs. Annie Delk, of lower Greenville county; Mrs. Lou Ella Delk. of this city, Mrs. Ruth Garrison, of Simpsonville; J. W., and H. D. Chandler, of this county, S. C. Chandler, of Charlotte and R. V. Chandler of Greenvile.
The body of the deceased will be at the home of his son, R. V. Chandler, on Hillcrest avenue, after 9 o'clock this morning where it will remain until 3:15, when the funeral party leaves for the church.
