Gerald Haire, 70, of Texarkana, Texas, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, in a local hospital.
Mr. Haire was born Oct. 7, 1939, in Texarkana. He was owner/broker of Gerald Haire Realty, co-owner of Texarkana Barber and Beauty Supply, former owner of Texarkana Racquet Club and Gerald Haire Construction, board member of Liberty-Eylau Education Foundation and Texas A&M University Business Advisory Council and member of Arkansas and Oklahoma Real Estate associations, Texarkana Board of Realtors, Texarkana Chamber of Commerce and Hardy Memorial United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Lay Haire. Survivors include his wife,
Earlyne Haire of Texarkana; three daughters, Melanie Misenheimer of Lindale, Texas, Cristia Moore of Austin and Heather Haire of Texarkana; one stepson, Russ Hocutt of
Powell, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Leigh Campbell of Coppell, Texas and Kristy Johnson
of Cleveland; one brother, Donnie Haire of Texarkana; one grandson, Jason Misenheimer; one granddaughter, Brooke Moore; 10 stepgrandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Hardy Memorial United Methodist Church with Garry Masterson officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park under direction of East Funeral Home, Moores Lane. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or Hardy Memorial United Methodist Church. Online registration is at www.eastfunerals.com
