TERRE DU LAC - Donald Ray Goggin, 89, of Terre du Lac, formerly of Park Hills, passed away June 19, 2011 at his residence. Don Goggin was born October 26, 1921 at Flat River.
Preceded in death by: His parents, Hallie R. Goggin and Genevieve (Veva) Estes Goggin; also a brother, Gene Lee Goggin.
Survived by: Wife, Lucille "Hodges" Goggin of Terre du Lac; son, David Ray Goggin and wife Linda of Clemmons, North Carolina; two daughters, Donna Jean Loyd and husband Jimmie of Terre du Lac, LuAnn Patterson of Park Hills ; grandchildren, Timothy Swaringim and wife Sharon; Byron Goggin and wife Leslie; Abby Newsom and husband Rocky; Philip Goggin and wife Stacy, Caroline Patterson, Christie Bell and husband Louis, Carlina Garnett and husband Mike; great grandchildren, Nathan, Nick, Zachary, Ella Vance, Christian, Alii, Peyton, Ashton, Brayson, Seth, Hannah and Ethan; sister, Katherine Holley of Desloge, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.
Donald and Lucille were married for 69 years, he was a member of Flat River High School Class of 1939; past member and deacon of Flat River First Baptist Church; member of Providence Baptist Church in Bonne Terre; Don was in the Army Air Force during WWII; Don and Lucille were owners of Lu-Don Fashions in Flat River for 30 years.
Visitation will be at the Horton-Wampler Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Tuesday. Services for Don Goggin will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Horton-Wampler Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Clinton officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
