GUN BARREL CITY - Graveside services for Gene Engledow, 76, Gun Barrel City, were held Tuesday afternoon at Elm Grove Cemetery in Van Zandt County with the Rev. Steve Glosup officiating and arrangements under direction of Eubank Funeral Home of Mabank.
Mr. Engledow died Monday at his home.
Born May 16. 1919, in Temple to the late Legarde and Metha White Engledow, he became a prisoner of war during World War II while serving with the U.S. Army. Mr. Engledow was a building inspector for the city of Dallas until his retirement in 1981 and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the N.R.A.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Engledow Gun Barrel City; two daughters, Susan Lanier, Studio City, Calif., and Julie Ann Cohen, Encino. Calif.: one son. Thomas Lanier Engledow. Flint; ana one brother, Legarde Engledow Jr.
