Jim was born in Memphis, TN on July 26, 1918, son of the late James T. and Katherine R. (Russell) Jones. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Jim married Phyllis Johnson on April 9, 1944 and she preceded him in death on March 11, 2018. Jim was employed with Chevrolet and retired from General Motors Service Parts Division in 1978 after more than 30 years of service. He was an active member of Faith Baptist Church. Jim also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.3972

Phyllis was the daughter of the late Fred and Julia (Ardouin) Johnson. She married James T. Jones on April 9, 1944.
She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She had a very active Christian Tape and Track Ministry, and was a great Prayer Warrior. She enjoyed cooking, and was an excellent cook.
Her memory is cherished by her husband, James; children, Russell, Roderick, Shelley, and Gregory; ten grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; several other loving family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Paul Nikoloff; son-in-law, John Nikoloff; two sisters and a brother.3973
