AGED WOMAN CALLED TO HER FINAL REWARD4218

Mrs. Polly Jane Huff a former well-known and highly respected resident of Wayne county, died last Friday, May 7, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ray Carter of Chicago, Ill. of the imfirmities incident to old age.

Funeral services were held at the Des Arc Methodist Church Sunday May 9. conducted by Rev. C. R. Baker. pastor of the Piedmont Methodist Church, and interment was in Des Arc cemetery.

Deceased had attained the ripe old ace of 71 years, 2 months and 11 days, having been born February 27, 1855, in Iron County, Missouri. Most of her long, useful life was spent in that county and in Wayne county, where she resided for many years. She had been twice married, her first husband being Raleigh Chilton, long since deceased. To this union two children were born, Mrs. S. L. Leeper and C. W. Chilton, both of Mill Spring. Her second husband was R. H. Huff, also deceased, and to this union the following children were born; Mrs. Ray Carter, Chicago; Edward W. Huff, Williamsville; Henry Huff, Flat River; Lonnie Huff, St. Louis; and Frank Huff, Chicago. She also leaves a brother, Wiley Roberts of Hammond, Indiana and 19 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Huff was well and favorably known throughout a large portion of Wayne county, and her children and other relatives here are among the leading citizens of the county. She was in every sense a good and noble type of pioneer womanhood, and her departure from the scenes of her earthly career will leave a void that will not be soon or easily filled. To the bereaved relatives and friends is extended the profound sympathy of all who knew Mrs. Huff.
