Notes for William Duard Huff
The birthdate recorded by Eileen Martin Bone in her family history account may be incorrect as it is only four months after the date she gives for his older sister. More likely it may have been 1881. There are also some unlikely tales in her history about William Duard Huff. She writes that in 1889 he went to Montana to work in his brother Joe’s blacksmith shop and that when he left Missouri he was in love with a girl named Nellie Roberts.4231 These dates and circumstances seem unlikely. Possibly it was 1899 when he went to Montana, when he would have been about 18 rather than 8.
