Raymond Pearl, Ex-Wolcott Man, Killed in Viet Nam4255 WOLCOTT - Word has been received here that Staff Sergeant Raymond Pearl, 32, of Olympia, Wash., former resident of Wolcott and North Rose, was killed in action Saturday, Oct. 29, 1966, in Viet Nam.
A military funeral service will be conducted today in Washington, D.C., with burial in Arlington National Cemetery.
Sgt. Pearl had previously served in the Korean War and was discharged from service in 1953. He re-enlisted in July 1966.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Neva Miles of Red Creek; his wife, Beverly, and four children of Olympia; two brothers, Leroy of Olympia and Michael Pearl of Palmyra; his stepfather, Graden Miles of Red Creek and two half-brothers, Randy and Roy Wayne Miles of Red Creek.
