Mr Gilchrest was bom Dec 10 1947 in Gatesville to Charles Darrell Gilchrest Sr and Betty Jane McNew Mr Gilchrest entered the US Army on Aug 1 5 1 967 and served honorably in the Vietnam War He received the National Defense Service Medal Vietnam Service Medal Vietnam Campaign Medal Army Commendation Medal Vietnam Unit Citation and one Overseas Bar Mr Gilchrest currently was working in the construction business as a sheetrocker
He was preceded in death by his father and four brothers Harrell, Darrell, Gary, Don and Roy
Survivors: Son Clinton Gilchrest and wife Carol of Kilgore daughter Sharon Petty and husband Matt of Cumby mother Betty Eaves and husband Glen of Fort Worth grandson Clinton Darrell Gilchrest Jr sisters Yvonne Woodard and husband Micheal of Copeville and Elizabeth Denman and husband Kenneth of Palestine brother Harrell Gilchrest of Copeville and numerous nieces and nephews
