Doris Elizabeth Brooks Denney, age 83 passed away on June 30, 2009. She was a native of Wahalak, MS and a resident of Mobile for the past 65 years. She was a founding member of Northside Bible Church. She gave many years of her life to International Paper Co. both at the Paper Mill and in Division Office, where she left many friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years Ishmael D. Denney. She is survived by her best friend and sister Etta Brooks Nelson of Mobile, her sister Arlene B. (Jim) Haskins of Starkville, MS and her brother Allen D. (Jeffrie) Bruton of Southaven, MS, and sisters in law Bernice Brooks McLeod of Mobile and Jeanette Brooks. In addition; she is survived by three children, Edith D. (Bud) McBride and Alton D. Denney both of Mobile and Michael D. (Donna) Denney of Eads, TN. She is also survived by six granddaughters, Lynda M. (John) Clough, Sharon M. (Jerry) Markow and Nona M. (Richard) Fultz all of Mobile, Megan and Melanie Denney of Eads, TN and Meredith D. (Joshua) Rutledge of Birmingham, AL, one grandson Michael D. Denney also of Eads, TN, seven great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Northside Bible Church. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 2, 2009 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 3, 2009 at 10:00 AM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation 9:00 AM until service time.
