GINNY LOU HARRIS HAMMONDS, 62, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016, resident of Jonesboro, AR for the past 6 years. Born in El Paso, TX on December 1, 1954, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Edith and Charles Beard of El Paso, TX; her paternal grandparents, George and Esther Harris of Albuquerque, NM; her dad, George Allen Harris of Missouri; and two grandsons, Tyler and Chase Savage of Missouri. She is survived by her 4 sons, Jerry (Brooke) Savage and Brandon (Merecedes) Savage and James (Donna) Corley and Eddy (Amber) Corley all of Jonesboro, AR; daughter Shonna (Jason) Yawn of Georgia; Mother, Dorothy Bassett of Mesquite, TX; sister, Christy Harris of Mesquite, TX; brothers, Arlen Harris of Missouri and Wendell Bassett of Arizona and a host of friends There are nine grandchildren: Caleb Savage, Alyssa Savage, Kyle Bushey, Michael Everett, Cody Yawn, Chloe Corley, Aubrey Corley, Zoey Corley and David Corley.
She was an excellent artist, had a love and strong ability in the crafts world, a dry wit that often took you by surprise, and an exceeding and strong love for her family and friends. She was unique, she was amazing, she was funny, she was kind and she was loved by all who knew her.
Funeral arrangements by Emerson Funeral Home; she will be cremated and there will a private family service at home. Condolences can be sent to the home of the son, Jerry Savage: 1509 S. Main St. Jonesboro, Arkansas. Please do not send owers, you may make a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her name.
