Albert S.Turner4695 CLARKSDALE - Albert Sidney "Sid" Turner, 55, died Monday, Oct. 10, at his residence of cancer. Services were 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Oakridge Cemetery with Dr. Carl White officiating. McNeil Nowell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He was the owner and operator of Turner Air Service. He began his career as an agricultural pilot thirty seven years ago in Crenshaw. He later worked for Williams Flying Service, during which time he worked in Nicaragua, Central America, spraying chemicals on cotton and bananas. In 1974, he began his own business, Turner Air Service.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Bennett Turner of Clarksdale; one daughter, Leslie Turner Reece of Cordova, Tenn., two sons, Lee Bennett Turner of Tunica and C. Kelly Turner of Oxford; one sister, Amy Turner of Memphis; two brothers, John Herschel Turner of Memphis and Jess Turner of Dallas and two grandchildren.
