Obituary4730Ethel Mae Mogle, 76, of Springfield died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at her residence.
She was born May 7, 1924, in St. Francisville, with the name Jincy Owen Estes, to Cecil and Grace Bradley Estes, and raised by adoptive parents Arthur Green and Ida Florence Milby Bale. She married Jack Alton Dyer in 1945; they later divorced. She later married Sherman John McDowell in 1956; he preceded her in death in 1972. She then married Ray Mogle in 1973; he preceded her in death in 1997.
Mrs. Mogle worked for Carson Pirie Scott & Co. in Chicago, Springfield Housing Authority, Sangamo Electric Co. and retired from St. John's Hospital in 1986, where she had been a cashier in the cafeteria for eight years. She was a member of Calvary Temple and a graduate of Ball Township High School. She later attended Illinois State Normal University.
Survivors: two sons, Jack (wife, Judy) and Mark (wife, Becky) Dyer, both of Springfield; two daughters, Ethel Mae "Torchee" Dyer of Texas and Elizabeth "Kee Kee" (husband, Don) Willett of Springfield; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: Staab Funeral Home, the Rev. Rick Hohimer officiating. Burial: Cumberland Sugar Creek Cemetery.
