Berniece Christian Jones, age 90, of Vestavia Hills, AL, died December 8, 2003. She was a longtime member of Rocky Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for 65 years and received the CPW Perpetual Membership Award.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas P. "Buster" Jones. Survivors include three children, 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, sisters, Mae Pearl Culpepper of Bessemer, Willette Atchison of Hueytown, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 11, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Rocky Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with burial in Croft-Acton Cemetery, Rev. Mike Wilkinson, Rev. Herbert Gray and Rev. Richard Brown officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 10, 2003 from 5-7 p.m. at Ridout's Valley Chapel and from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Rocky Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church.4765
