Sam F. Day4778Funeral services for Sam F. Day, 88, Southwest City who died at 2 a.m. Wednesday at his home following a short illness, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Southwest City. The Rev. Paul Bay will officiate.
Burial will be in the Southwest City Cemetery under the direction of the Lawson Funeral Home of Southwest City.
Mr. Day was born in the state of Mississippi on Feb. 19, 1886. He was married to the former Rose Houchin, who survives at England, Ark., in 1928.
Other survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Allie Welchel, Conoga Park, Calif., Mrs. Margie Caldwell, North Fork, Calif.. Mrs. Ruby Hannold. Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Edith McGlynn, Hampton, Va., and Mrs. Johnnie Donaldson, Southwest City; two sons, Thurman, Los Angeles, Calif., and Tommy, Victorville, Calif.; two half- sisters, Miss Ruby Huff, Memphis, Tenn., and Miss Alma Huff, Glouster, Miss.; 19 grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
