Polina May Koons,
1517 94, of 2216 E. 18th St., an Oklahoma pioneer, died in a Tulsa hospital Thursday.
Mrs. Koons and her husband, George B. Koons, who died in 1926, were married when she was 16 years old. They homesteaded a farm near Temple in 1901. She has been a Tulsa resident since 1924.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. A.E. Ashley, 2216 E. 18th St.; two sons, E.N. Koons, Los Angeles, California, and W. S. Koons, 1932 S. Florence Place; five other daughters, Mrs. Riley S. Smith, 1809 W. Cameron Ave.; Mrs. Lulu Swisher, Sacamento, California; Mrs. Hal Lang, 2805 E. 4th Place; Mrs. P.M. Kelsay, Carbonhill. Alabama; and Mrs. D.W. Wilkerson, Kansas City, Missouri; 14 Grandchildren, 31 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending with Tulsa-Whisenhunt Funeral Home.
Polina is buried in the Rose Hill cemetery, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
