Mrs. A. J. Kinsey, 69, a resident of Kimble County, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1976, at 10:45 p.m. in Hill Country Memorial Hospital where she had been patient for nine days. Her body lay in state in Schaetter Fumeral Home until 12 noon Wednesday, Dec. 8, and from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Harper Presbyterian Church, at which time services were held with the Rev. Milton Bierschwale officiating. Interment followed in Harper.
Mrs. Kinsey was the former Bernice Whitewood, a daughter of J. S. Whitewood and Emma Mason Whitewood. She was born June 18, 1907, in Kimble County. She married Anderson J. Kinsey Dec. 30, 1925 in Paint Rock, and he survives her.
Other survivors, in addition to her husband, are a son, Dale Scott Kinsey, Lubbock; a daughter, JoAnn, Mrs. V. C. Whitwort, Doole, Texas; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and the following brothers and sisters; Fred Whitewood, Harper; Spencer Whitewood, Edinburg; Nell, Mrs. Fred Nabors, Kerrville; Grace, Mrs. Leslie Harper, Harper; Lydia, Mrs. Burton Brown, Kerrville.
Preceding her in death were two sisters, Clara, Mrs. A. C. Wendel; and Lisa, Mrs. Oliver Hopf.
Pallbearers were Fred Whitewood Jr, Kenneth Whitewood, Spencer Brown, Kelby Brown, Gene Bratton and Pat Eppler. Mrs. Dean Hopf was the organist for the service.
