Mary Lou Splawn4969 CLYDE - Mary Lou Splawn, 86, was found dead at her residence south of Clyde Tuesday afternoon. Justice of the Peace Lee Saveli ruled death was due to natural causes. Services are pending with Bailey Funeral Home in Clyde.
Born Oct. 24, 1892 in Tyro, Miss, she married WB Splawn Aug 3, 1920 in Hamlin. He died in 1971. After living in Hamlin she lived in Mission and Poteet before moving to Clyde In 1953.
She was a member of Clyde Church of Christ.
Survivors include a sister, Jewel Long, of Florida; a grandson, Lilbern Scott Jr. of Abilene; and six granddaughters, Barbara Mason of New York, Betty Welch of Abilene, Kathleen Jaramillo of Dallas, and Deborah, Melissa and Carolyn Scott, all of Clyde; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, William Splawn Jr., in 1953, and a daughter Mrs. Lou Dean Scott, in 1978.
