Herman Pool5021 HENDERSON — Funeral services for Herman Pool, 62, of Henderson are set for 2 p.m. Thursday in Crawford-A. Grim Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Vernon L. Sullivan and the Rev. Jim Conway officiating.
Burial will be in Strong Cemetery.
Mr. Pool died Tuesday night in a Henderson hospital after a long illness. He was a Rusk County native, a lifelong area resident, a truck driver for Parade Oil Co., and a World War II veteran.
He was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Esther Pool of Henderson; two sons, Richard Pool and Michael Pool, both of Henderson; one daughter, Miss Maurine Pool of Henderson; and four sisters, Mrs. Laura Eddy of Henderson, Mrs. Linnie Sealey of Carthage, Mrs. Mary Jane Straughn of Beaumont and Mrs. Maurine Spencer of Stowell.
Pallbearers will be Waymon Griffin, Delbert Gray, Ray Hunt, J,V. Hale, Jodie Freeman and Herbert Leopard.
Esther, age 95, of Fresno, died on August 9, 2014. A lifelong homemaker and exceptional cook, she was inquisitive, honest and humble. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose T. and Josie Torres; her husband, Herman; and son, Thomas. She is survived by children, Michael, Richard and Maurine Pool; and daughter-in-law Gayle; sisters, Mary Dolores Moore and Audrey Kappitz; and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be in the Guadalupe Chapel at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Monday, August 18, 2014, at 11:00 a.m.
