Notes for Sarah Bradley
Sarah Bradley was daughter of John Bradley and Nancy Hampton Ledbetter. Please note that she is not to be confused with Sarah Goodbread who married Walton Ledbetter.

Sarah's father, John Bradley, was a son of John Bradley and his wife, Mary Ledbetter Bradley. Her mother, Nancy Hampton, was a daughter of Andrew Hampton and Katherina Elizabeth Hyder.

Family legend says Sarah Bradley Ledbetter (d. Aug 1837) and Isaac (d. 10 Jul 1837) both died in Henderson County, NC in 1837, however, it should be duly noted that Henderson County, NC was not formed from Buncombe County, NC until 1838. Therefore, both Sarah and Isaac Ledbetter died in what was then Buncombe County, NC, and what was later split off into Henderson County, NC. If, when they died, they were living in close vicinity of the Ledbetter Family Cemetery it is possible their death location would today be in Transylvania County, NC since that part of Henderson County, NC, where the cemetery is located, is now in Transylvania County, NC.

The location of the Ledbetter Family Cemetery in 2021 is shown in Transylvania County, NC. The description and location of this cemetery at Find A Grave:
"This cemetery was originally located in Henderson County before that part of the county became Transylvania County in 1861
Location is:
Hwy 64 West of Etowah, about two miles past the railroad tracks towards Brevard.
Cemetery is on private property of M. Gash, on a hill."

Please note that Isaac and Sarah Bradley Ledbetter are both buried in the Ledbetter Family Cemetery, but when they were buried in that cemetery it was located in Buncombe County, NC which was then formed into Henderson County, NC then that part of the county was split off into Transylvania County NC.

Because of these county formations and splits locations were confusing to descendants. One of Sarah's son's death certificates shows Sarah was born (1798) in Transylvania County, NC, which was not formed until 1861.
