Virgil Phipps4116 KINGSLAND - Virgil Phipps, 80, died Friday in Breckinridge Hospital in Austin.
Services will be at 3 pm Sunday in First Baptist Church with the Rev Jim Franklin officiating. Burial will be in Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet, directed by Waldrope-Hatfield Funeral Home.
Phipps was a farmer and had lived in Kingsland for 19 years. He was a deacon in the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Clarice Phipps of Kingsland; two sons, Donvan V. Phipps of Welch and Douglas D. Phipps of Houston; two daughters, Mrs Dortha Fay Futch of Denver City and Mrs Frances Jean Miller of Leander; two brothers, Buster Phipps of Tahoka and J.D. Phipps of Denver City; four sisters ,Mrs Gladys Conn of Irving, Mrs Myrtle Jones of Lamesa, Mrs Floy Morris of Marfa and Mrs Dorothy Robison of San Antonio; 11 grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.
