Notes for Walter A. Oakley
Mrs. Irene Cates Oakley5112 died Tuesday, Feb. 2, in Wake Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for a week. She was the mother of Mrs. Russel Taylor.
She was 82-years-old and the widow of Walter A. Oakley. She resided with a son, Wilburs Oalkey of Zebulon.
A funeral service was Wednesday at Pilot Baptist Church with the Rev. Donaid Wagner. Burial was in the Zebulon City Cemetery.
The casket was covered with a pall of red roses and white carnations.
Pallbearers were Billy Wayne Ray, Charles Taylor, Danny King, Craig Strlckland, grandsons; and Danny Ray Glenn Scogglns.
Surviving are three sons, Wilbur, W. A. of Fairfield, Calif., and Edward E. Oakley of Knlghtdale; slx daughters. Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Howard Clark and Mrs. Barbara Stalllngs of Raleigh, Mrs. John Perkins and Mrs. Robert Stephenson of Greensboro and Mrs. Marvin Strickland of Zebulon; two sisters, Mrs. Johnny Carter and Mrs. Harvey King of Durham; 22 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
