SUTHERLAND Edwin A-54 passed away suddenly Monday morning at his home, 614 Seventh Avenue, Lenoir City. Survivors: widow, Hazel Lay Sutherland; one son, Robert S., two granddaughters; one brother ,L G Sutherland Jr., Broodhead, Wis. He was a member of Avery Lodge 593 F&AM; member of Knoxville Consistory Scottish Rite Masons; past president of Lenoir City Rotary Club. He was manager of J C Penney Co., Lenoir City, for 21 years and for the last 2 and one half years hod been connected with Ira Watson Merchandising Co, Knoxville. Body is at Hawkins, where fomlly will receive friends 7-9 pm Tuesday. Funeral 4 pm Wednesday at Trinity Methodist Church of which he was a member. Body will lie In state one hour before services. Active pallbearers: Warren Nichols, Bradford Black, Glenn Whistler, Gillie Purdy, Paul Garner and Charlie Everette. Honorary pallbearers members of Soturdoy Night Club and Sadie Porter Sunday School class.3457
