Thanks so much for your info. This gives me more to go on! Also-I have tried
many spellings of some of my other genealogical research names, but for some
reason I hadn't thought to look up Maurice as Morris - ack! I guess that
makes me REALLY American! I am thankful for the hints.

I am looking for an Allen P. Morris born about 1821, supposedly in NC to
unknown parents.
I will be checking out all the info you gave- THANKS!

Do you have anything further, or a contact person or online sources I could
ask about?
I am looking for all Allens everywhere so that I can ferret out who is who
and who goes into what lineage.

DOES ANYONE have anything further for any Allen or A P Morris -es in early
1800s in United States Southeast (NC, SC, GA, AL, MS, LA, also VA TN and
nearby regions such as KY?)

I have an 1850 census that MAY put my Allen P Morris as a teacher in the
home of Dr Amos McCoy in Alabama, where several young people were living and
going to school.

There are a few of 1830 & 1840 census records that could be my guy, in Onslo
NC and in VA.
