came to Mecklenburg County, NC from Pennsylvania per Hannah Montieth. They were moved to Mecklenburg County by Hannah and Rachel's uncle Nathaniel Montieth. Hannah stated that they came in 1776 after Rachel's father died in 1775. After they removed from PA, they came to Meck to stay with Hannah and Rachel's mother. At that time, William and Rachel had two small children, Thomas, the eldest, and Sally.
