In the original record, the status (married or single) of Sarah E. Shaw was written over; it appears that something was changed to “S”. Perhaps she was married to a Nunery and divorced. In the 1900 census there is a large Nunnery family in Georgetown, and a J. C. Nunnery, age 33, is listed as a boarder with the family of W. M. McFarland.

1910 Census of Georgetown, Williamson Co TX

Name Age
William C Shaw 73
Rachel J Shaw 55
Alice Hutchenson 32
John W Shaw 30
James I Shaw 26
Effie Shaw 26 daughter-in-law

In both the 1900 and 1910 census, Rachel Shaw reported having beein mother of 10 children, of which 9 were still living. Since no evidence has been found for Ada O. Shaw or Mary A. Shaw after their listing in the 1880 census, one of these presumably died before 1900 and the other married and is listed with an unknown married name.
